Denbighshire County Council are delighted to announce that North & Mid Wales’s outright number 1 commercial radio station, Heart, is the Official Media partner for SC2 in Rhyl, opening in Spring 2019.

[aoa id=”1″]Heart will entertain their listeners with a number of exciting competitions in the run up to the opening with presenters Lois and Oli hosting a pool party at SC2 for the official launch.

SC2 is expected to open in Spring 2019, with construction work well underway on the site next to the Sky Tower on Rhyl promenade. The £15 million waterpark will include Wales’ first TAGactive play arena, indoor and outdoor water play for all ages and abilities, flume rides, beach style paddling, feature slides and themed cafes. There will also be a bar and terrace open seasonally.[/aoa]

As the centrepiece of Rhyl’s waterfront development programme, SC2 is expected to attract an extra 350,000 visitors per year to the town and will also create an anticipated 65 new jobs.

Leader of Denbighshire, Councillor Hugh Evans OBE, said:

“We’re thrilled to have Heart Mid & North Wales as the Official Media Partner for SC2. This is an exciting partnership for the new attraction coming to Rhyl next year and we look forward to working with them. There will be something for the whole family at SC2, including great opportunities for play, food and drink and relaxation. The excitement is already building and we look forward to providing more information over the coming months, giving a real flavour of what’s to come”.

Station Director for Heart in North & Mid Wales, Kristy John said:

“SC2 is perfectly aligned with Heart’s core audience, so is an exciting partnership for us.  We know our listeners and their families are going to love this incredible waterpark and we’re looking forward to working with the team at SC2.”

Rhyl Mayor Cllr Win Mullen-James said: “SC2 will be a fantastic attraction, not just for the residents of Rhyl but for people throughout North Wales and beyond. It is great to have Heart Mid & North Wales as a media partner, supporting what will be a superb asset to our town and delivering that message to a wide audience, putting Rhyl firmly on the map.”
