A real highlight in the Welsh food calendar, the Cowbridge Food & Drink Festival is back with a bang for 2022 with South Wales’ leading distillery on board as festival sponsor.

Promising to be a whole weekend of foodie, family-friendly fun the festival will take place over the Easter Weekend (17-18 April), with Hensol Castle Distillery – South Wales’ first full scale gin distillery, visitor experience, gin school and bottling plant – playing a key role in events.

A team will be on site over the weekend allowing festival goers to sample and buy some of the fabulous products available, including two of the distillery’s exciting new flavours – Blood Orange Zest and Wild Strawberry & Hibiscus and of course the award-winning Welsh Dry.

Each of the flavoured gins are distilled from real fruit or natural flavours and perfectly blended with Hensol Castle Welsh Dry gin; copper pot distilled and handcrafted in the castle cellars for a true taste of Wales.

Speaking about the distillery’s involvement with the festival, Hensol Castle Distillery marketing manager Stephanie Metson said:

“The Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival is a fantastic fit for us and we’re delighted to be involved for the first time this year.

“As well as being a great opportunity to showcase everything we produce, we’re looking forward to letting people know more about the whole Hensol experience and hoping they’ll join us for a tour sometime to learn all about the history of gin and Hensol Castle and of course, enjoy a gin tasting in the cocktail bar!”

Cowbridge Food & Drink Festival event organiser, Polly Wilson added:

“We’re delighted that Hensol Castle Distillery has chosen to team up with in this way – like the festival the distillery provides a fantastic visitor experience and we’re really looking forward to having them on site over the weekend to sample some of their finest gin varieties!”
