Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to market The Tal Y Cafn, a multi award-winning gastropub in Colwyn Bay.

The Tal Y Cafn is a historic coaching inn, which dates back to 1438 and has evolved into a contemporary multi award-winning gastropub with luxury accommodation. The current building, approximately 200 years old, has undergone extensive refurbishment work and now features a high-spec fit-out, combining traditional charm with modern efficiency.

The property contains a large restaurant split across several dining areas, including a bar/lounge, snug area, and a gallery dining space.

The property also contains three luxury guest rooms, comprising two ensuite double rooms and the Snowdon Suite, a self-contained apartment with a kitchen, dining area, living room, private balcony, and hot tub. A luxury lodge development Conwy Valley Residences currently being built offers a new operator the potential to add additional revenue streams to The Tal Y Cafn.

The outdoor areas accommodate a further 200 covers and includes a BBQ station, dedicated bar, and foundations for a marquee. The space is ideal for summer events and weddings, with the capacity to host up to 350 guests.

The gastropub is on the market as the current owner Mike has decided to step back from running the site. The businesses are unaffected by the sale process and will continue trading as normal.

Mike commented, “After five extremely successful years of running the Tal Y Cafn and over five years in hospitality, bringing a business back from closure is something I’m extremely proud of, along with our amazing staff that we’ve done this with.”

James Dodd, Business Agent at Christie & Co, is managing the sale process and added, “The sale of The Tal Y Cafn presents a rare opportunity to acquire a landmark hospitality business in one of the UK’s most scenic regions. With its award-winning gastropub, luxury accommodation, and scope for further development, it offers incoming operators a turnkey proposition with enormous potential.”

The Tal Y Cafn is on the market with a freehold asking price of £1,800,000.
