Forget organising the Christmas office party, buying stocking fillers for the kids, and trying to decide what on earth to buy Aunty Dot for a moment. And think about how you can help others this Christmas.

It’s easy to get caught up with all the preparations for the festive season, but it’s important to remember that Christmas is a time of goodwill and . There are many ways in which you can do good this Christmastime. Here are some toys and games gift ideas for you to consider.

    Volunteer at a Soup Kitchen

By volunteering at a soup kitchen, you can provide homeless people with a warm meal amongst a safe and supportive setting. Your company will be just as valued as the food you serve. Many charities and other organisations provide meals to homeless people over the festive period, so there’s sure to be a local one you can get involved with.

    Donate to Charity

You can help those less fortunate than you by donating to charity this Christmas. Signing up for a regular donation is even better, as that allows charities to plan-ahead with the essential work they do. Many charities will enable you to sponsor people or animals. For example, by sponsoring a child with Compassion, you can change lives with your donation by giving them access to nutritional support, education and healthcare. Visit here to find out more.

    Donate Toys

Christmas is a time for giving, so all children should receive gifts on the big day. But not every child has a family or even a home. Others are in hospitals during the holiday season. By donating old or new toys to charities, you can help to put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas.

    Set Up a Fundraising Collection

People think of others more at Christmas, so they are often willing to give to good causes over the yuletide season. Choose a charity that you’re passionate about and set up a collection. You may want to collect donations at the workplace, at your church, in a local community centre, in a pub, or among your friends. Whatever approach you take, by giving a little of your time, you can raise a lot of money for worthy causes. Contact the charity you wish to donate to, to find out how to go about it.

    Throw a Fundraising Event

Christmas is a fantastic time for work colleagues at companies to come together. In addition to throwing an office party, why not put on a charity fundraising event? It’s incredible how much money can become raised when people unite for a common cause. By organising a quiz, a karaoke event, an auction, or another event, you can raise much-needed funds for worthy causes.

    Help Your Local Community

If you have neighbours who will be alone this Christmas, make sure you spend some time with them. A little company can go a long way. You could also help in your local community by shopping for a neighbour who has mobility issues or giving your time to local festive events.
