Caerphilly County Borough Council is proud to announce an exciting initiative aimed at increasing participation in the upcoming Caerphilly 10k and 2k races. In collaboration with local business, Sport Caerphilly will be awarding a £100 gift voucher to both the school and sports club with the highest number of entrants in the forthcoming Caerphilly 2k event for CC Sports in Bargoed. The voucher can be used to purchase equipment and provide support to further enhance their activities.

This incentive, championed by Cllr Chris Morgan, Cabinet Member for Waste, Leisure & Green Spaces, underscores the council’s ongoing commitment to promoting active lifestyles and community engagement through its Sport and Active Recreation Strategy throughout Caerphilly County Borough.

Cllr Chris Morgan emphasised, “We are thrilled to introduce this exciting incentive to further encourage participation in the Caerphilly 2k event. By incentivising schools and sports clubs, we aim to foster a spirit of healthy competition and inspire individuals of all ages to embrace physical activity as part of their daily routine.”

The Caerphilly 2k event, scheduled for Sunday 12th May, offers the opportunity to experience the beauty of Caerphilly while participating in a thrilling running event suitable for all fitness levels.

To be eligible for the £100 gift voucher, schools and sports clubs are encouraged to contact the Caerphilly 10k team to receive a code that will facilitate tracking entries from their institution. Entrants must specify the school or sports club they are representing during registration to ensure their participation is counted towards the total number of entries for their respective institution. The winning school and sports club will be determined based on the total number of registered participants from each institution.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to support your school or sports club while participating in a community-focused event that celebrates health and well-being. Register today for the Caerphilly 2k and join us in making a positive impact in our local community.
