Please be aware that there will be traffic management at three streets in Porth, to enable preparatory work for future drainage upgrades.

A future scheme to improve the drainage system at Tuberville Road is currently being designed, and ground investigations will start from Monday, April 8.

It will consist of a series of trial holes – and will require temporary traffic lights at Tuberville Road and Aberrhondda Road for two weeks.

There will also be a three-day road closure at Packers Road (between Aldergrove Road and Aberrhondda Road) from April 8-10.

An alternative route for motorists is via Aldergrove Road, Gynor Avenue, Gynor Place, the unnamed road between Gynor Place and Ynyshir Road, Ynyshir Road, and Aberrhondda Road.

Access will be maintained for emergency services, pedestrians and to all premises. Cyclists should dismount and take the pedestrian route.

This investigatory work has been wholly funded by Welsh Government’s Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management grant, and will be delivered by the Council’s Streetcare Team.
