Wales’ leading Transport and Warehousing Company calls on motorists to ‘Drive your litter home’ as part of Keep Wales Tidy’s national roadside litter campaign.

Since 1972, Owens Group has been leading the way in the transport sector and currently employs over 1,000 people across the UK.

As part of the Group, they also support with recycling through their sister company Dyfed Recycling Skip Hire & Recycling Services, which is aiming to help create a cleaner Wales.

Owens Group Managing Director, Ian Owen, said: “We’re happy to partner with Keep Wales Tidy and support their roadside litter campaign to urge drivers to keep their conscience and our roadsides clear.

“At Owens Group, taking our responsibilities seriously is always on top of our agenda. We have an environmental policy and waste management schemes at each of our sites to ensure all our drivers dispose of their litter responsibly.

“We use the most fuel-efficient trucks, and all routes are carefully planned to ensure the most environmentally friendly option is used each time.

“We’re always monitoring and measuring our impact on the environment and are continuing to invest in different areas of the business such as vehicle performance metrics to reduce our footprint.

“Through our Dyfed Recycling Services, which has been in operation for 30 years, we deliver solutions to make recycling easier for individuals and businesses to help achieve zero waste to landfill supporting our aim of creating a cleaner Wales.

“Everyone is responsible for caring for the environment and we encourage other transport companies to adopt the same ethos to respect our roads in Wales and beyond.”

Keep Wales Tidy Chief Executive, Lesley Jones, said:

“Having support from such a high-profile company in the transport sector is just fantastic and will enable us to take our important campaign messages on the road.

Reducing your carbon footprint and caring for our beautiful country should be on top of every business’s agenda and Owens Group are setting a great example with their zero-tolerance to littering policy.

Owens Group are passionate about caring for the roads across the country and we’re delighted to have them on board on our journey towards a litter free Wales.”

The nationwide campaign is being run as part of Caru Cymru (a Welsh phrase meaning ‘Love Wales’) – an inclusive movement led by Keep Wales Tidy and councils to inspire people to take action and care for the environment.

As well as Wales-wide outdoor advertising, Keep Wales Tidy are looking for other transport companies to take their national campaign on the roads.
