Popeyes® UK is bringing the flavour of New Orleans to Llanelli, marking its fifth Welsh restaurant after successful openings across South Wales. The new restaurant will officially open at 11am on Saturday 7th February, located at Parc Trostre Retail Park.
To celebrate the first Welsh opening of 2026, Popeyes® is pulling out all the stops for Llanelli locals:
    • The first three customers fans in the queue will win free Deluxe Chicken Sandwiches for a year.
    • The first 50 customers will bag exclusive Popeyes® UK merch.
    • The first 100 queuers will be treated to a free Deluxe Chicken Sandwich.
Popeyes® has become famous for winding queues around the block on opening day. Most recently, fried chicken fanatics in Swansea queued for 18-hours, all in the pursuit of the famous Louisiana Chicken – and Llanelli promises to be no different.
On the menu will be Popeyes® favourites including the iconic legendary Chicken Sandwich, Signature Wraps, Hot Wings and Tenders – all made with 100% fresh chicken. The chicken is marinated for 12 hours in a signature blend of bold Louisiana seasonings, and hand-breaded for that world-famous “shatter-crunch.”
Alongside legendary mains, Popeyes® fans in Llanelli will be able to enjoy mouth-watering sides including Mac & Cheese, Gravy and Smoky Beans.
Tom Crowley, Popeyes® UK Chief Executive Officer, commented: “The excitement from Welsh fans never disappoints. Last autumn, our Swansea opening saw 18-hour queues, following other successful launches in Cardiff and Newport. Opening our fifth restaurant in Wales is another key step in our growth journey, and we’re looking forward to welcoming Llanelli diners on the 7th February.”
The new Popeyes® restaurant will feature 74 seats and bring 81 new jobs to the community, opening at Unit 15 Parc Trostre, Trostre Road, Llanelli, SA14 RA.
