The M48 Severn Bridge has been closed in both directions following a police incident, Traffic Wales has confirmed.

The road remains shut at this time, with motorists being urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Traffic Wales warned that delays are expected while the closure remains in place.

No further details about the nature of the incident have been released.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
