A burglar who stole thousands of pounds worth of copper cabling from a business in Porthmadog has been jailed.
Thomas Keenan, of Walsall, appeared for sentencing at Caernarfon Crown Court on Friday 11 September after previously admitting to burglary.
The 24-year-old, along with two others, trespassed into BT premises in May 2023 and stole six wooden drums of copper cabling, worth around £4000.
He was jailed for 13 months.
PC Stephen Jones said: “Copper theft is not a victimless crime and has real-life impacts on businesses and members of the community.
“We take reports of burglary seriously and will pursue any perpetrators to bring them to justice.”
