Heavy rain, thunderstorms and blustery showers are set to bring an unsettled spell of weather across Wales this week, according to the latest forecast from the Met Office.
After a period of drier and warmer conditions, the weather is taking a turn, with heavy rain expected to spread across the country and continue for much of Monday.
The Met Office says rain will become widespread through the morning and remain persistent throughout the day, with some particularly heavy bursts possible. There is also a risk of thundery downpours developing during the afternoon, while coastal areas can expect breezy conditions.
Temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of around 17°C.
The wet weather is set to continue into Monday evening and the first part of the night, with further heavy downpours possible before conditions gradually improve. The rain is forecast to ease and clear towards the end of the night, with temperatures falling to around 10°C.
Tuesday is expected to begin on a brighter note for many areas, with some sunshine developing after the overnight rain clears. However, the improvement is likely to be short-lived as heavy scattered showers move in through the morning.
Forecasters warn that some of these showers could be accompanied by thunder, although temperatures will climb slightly higher than Monday, reaching around 18°C.
Looking further ahead, the unsettled theme continues through the middle of the week.
A band of rain is expected to move across Wales on Wednesday, followed by heavy and blustery showers on Thursday.
Conditions are then expected to improve slightly on Friday, with drier weather, some bright spells and only a few showers forecast.
The Met Office is advising people to keep up to date with the latest forecast, particularly if travelling or planning outdoor activities during the week.
