    MIKA launches Cardiff Pride weekend with spectacular Cardiff Castle headline show

    Multi-platinum pop star MIKA kicked off Cardiff’s Pride celebrations in style on Friday night with a vibrant headline performance at Cardiff Castle.

    The BRIT Award and Ivor Novello-winning singer brought his trademark energy, colour and charisma to the Welsh capital as part of TK Maxx presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle, entertaining thousands of fans in one of the city’s most iconic venues.

    Known for global hits including Grace Kelly, Relax, Take It Easy and Happy Ending, MIKA delivered a crowd-pleasing set that helped launch a packed Pride weekend in Cardiff.

    Joining him on the bill were chart-topping indie-pop favourites The Feeling, while acclaimed Welsh artist Gwenno opened the evening with a homegrown performance that showcased some of Wales’ finest musical talent.

    The concert formed part of the biggest-ever TK Maxx presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle series, which this year features a record-breaking 24 headline shows from some of the world’s most recognised artists.

    The summer concert series continues next Friday (June 19) when American singer-songwriter Ethel Cain takes to the stage, joined by Anna von Hausswolff.

    The 2026 programme has already welcomed Chris Stussy and Pete Tong Ibiza Classics to Cardiff Castle, with a packed schedule of major acts still to come throughout June, July and August.

    Upcoming highlights include performances from Garbage and Skunk Anansie, Empire of the Sun, McFly, Alter Bridge, Katy Perry, Bastille, Richard Ashcroft, Self Esteem, David Byrne, Biffy Clyro, The Streets, Sex Pistols, Two Door Cinema Club, Hollywood Vampires and Jimmy Eat World.

    The annual concert series has become one of Wales’ premier live music events, attracting music fans from across the UK while bringing some of the biggest names in entertainment to the heart of Cardiff.

    The concert series runs throughout the summer at Cardiff Castle, bringing an eclectic mix of pop, rock, indie, electronic and alternative music to the city centre.
