Morrisons raise £5 million for charity partner Together for Short Lives and children’s hospices including Tŷ Hafan.

Welcome news has come this week for children’s hospices including Tŷ Hafan and families caring for a child with a life-shortening condition with an announcement from Morrisons that they have reached £5 million pounds in their fundraising efforts for charity partner Together for Short Lives.

Together for Short Lives is the leading UK-wide charity for children’s palliative care, supporting children’s hospices including Tŷ Hafan and families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.

Rachel Ritter, Head of Fundraising (Corporate, Community and Major Giving) for Tŷ Hafan, says: “We are so grateful to the amazing team at Morrisons and to all of their customers for all that they are doing for Tŷ Hafan and all the other children’s hospices across the UK through their partnership with Together for Short Lives.

“£5 million is a huge amount to have raised and on behalf of everyone at Tŷ Hafan I would like to thank each and every person who has supported this fundraising campaign in every way. We simply could not do what we do without people like you.”

The partnership with Morrisons is raising vital funds for children’s hospices across the country and helping families make precious memories together. Together, they are also reaching out to those families across the UK who don’t know about the support they can access in their local community, and from Together for Short Lives.

Morrisons hopes to raise £10 million by October 2024 to help us be there for every family caring for a seriously ill child.

Together for Short Lives CEO, Andy Fletcher says: “We are thrilled that Morrisons colleagues have reached this incredible £5 million pound milestone. It will make such a difference to the work we do with families and provide much-needed funds for local children’s hospices. A huge thank you to Morrisons colleagues, customers and suppliers from Together for Short Lives and the 99,000 children living with a life-limited condition in the UK.”

Morrisons CEO, David Potts says: “We are delighted to have raised £5m for Together for Short Lives. Our colleagues and customers are dedicated to raising vital funds for local children’s hospices so that they can provide care to seriously ill children and help families spend precious time together.”
