    Murder investigation launched as body found in Barry

    South Wales Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Barry.

    Officers were called at around 5.50am today (Wednesday, August 28) to Barry Intermodal Terminal, Wimborne Road, following the discovery of a body.

    The deceased man has not yet been officially identified.
    Significant police enquiries are on-going in the area and a cordon remains in place while investigations continue.

    Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Mark O’Shea, Major Crime Investigations Team, said: “A murder investigation has been instigated and a major incident room has been set up.

    “The investigation is very much in its early stages, however, I am appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

    “There will be an increased police presence in the area and I would like both to re-assure and thank the local community for their assistance to date.”
