    Murder investigation launched following Barry assault

    A murder investigation is underway following the death of a man in Barry town centre this afternoon.

    Emergency services were called to Holton Road at 4pm following reports of a serious assault.

    Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 23-year-old man died at the scene.

    His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

    A section of Holton Road remains cordoned off and a number of enquiries are ongoing to located and arrest those responsible.

    Detectives investigating the death of a man in Barry town centre, have since arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

    A 24-year-old local man has since been arrested and is currently in custody.

    Officers are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the death, however anyone with information or any witnesses who have yet to come forward, are still urged to contact 101, quoting occurrence 1900461821
