PERi-PERi fans rejoice! Nando’s has announced the opening date of its new Swansea Morfa restaurant. The iconic chicken chain will be opening its doors and firing up the grills for fans from 1st February 2023.
Located in Morfa Retail Park right next to Swansea City stadium, the new restaurant will be Nando’s second branch in Swansea. Seating up to 118 indoors, and 12 outside for those that enjoy their PERi-PERi alfresco – flavour fans will also be able to order Delivery and Collect options to enjoy at home.
From artwork to lighting design and furnishings, Nando’s strives to continually work with South African based designers across all aspects of its restaurants, this sees Swansea Morfa feature a striking two-storey mural created by Spamandla Mdunyelwa, Nando’s Young Hot Designer finalist.  A five-metre light installation inspired by the South African acacia sweet thorn plant also pays homage to Nando’s South African heritage.
As part of its continued sustainability commitment Nando’s newest opening features solar panels on the roof, helping to reduce the restaurant’s reliance on grid generated power, and is also trialling a new system that warms the restaurant from the heat of Nando’s famous grills.
Restaurant manager, Claire Hooper said: “We’re looking forward to opening the doors to our stunning new Swansea Morfa restaurant, creating 35 new jobs in the area and bringing Nando’s famous PERi-PERi to the doorsteps of Swansea residents.”
