The McDonald’s on Fabian Way, Swansea, has reopened following a major redesign under the chain’s ‘Convenience of the Future’ programme, aimed at delivering a faster, smarter, and more enjoyable experience for customers.

The restaurant, owned and operated by local franchisee Ron Mounsey, has undergone significant changes to its layout and technology, reflecting how customers choose to enjoy McDonald’s today.

The new design brings a brighter dining space, clearer separation between dine-in and delivery, and improvements to the kitchen that help teams serve food more quickly. With dedicated areas for different ordering methods, including app and kiosk use, along with the removal of the traditional front counter, the restaurant now offers a more streamlined flow and more space for customers to enjoy their meals.

Improvements have also been made for staff, with a redesigned crew room providing a more comfortable and relaxing space for breaks.

Ron Mounsey, who owns and operates 17 McDonald’s restaurants across Wales, said:
“I’m really pleased to have invested in our Fabian Way restaurant, introducing upgrades that improve the experience for customers, couriers and our crew. The new design brings a brighter dining space, clearer separation between dine-in and delivery, and technology that helps us serve people faster. The changes reflect how our customers choose to enjoy McDonald’s today, while also making the restaurant a better place to work for the team.”

While the classic walk-in and Drive Thru services remain at the heart of the business, the redesign makes smarter use of space and better integrates digital sales channels such as the McDonald’s app.

The revamp is part of McDonald’s wider investment across the UK to modernise restaurants and adapt to the growing demand for speed, efficiency and choice.
