An experienced care sector professional has realised a long-held ambition to own and lead her own care home business following the acquisition of Tŷ Pentwyn Care Home in Treorchy, supported by a seven-figure loan from the Development Bank of Wales.
The funding, provided through the Wales Flexible Investment Fund, has enabled Ati2ude Care Ltd, led by Anchumol Peter to acquire the long-established residential and nursing care home.
Located in the heart of Treorchy, Tŷ Pentwyn provides residential and dementia nursing care for up to 35 residents. The home has served the local community for more than a century and employs an established team of 48 care professionals who will remain in place following the change of ownership.
The home enjoys occupancy levels of more than 90 per cent. It was most recently inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) in 2023, receiving positive feedback.
For Anchumol, who has spent more than a decade working in the care sector, the acquisition marks the fulfilment of a long-standing career goal. She is a qualified nurse and former manager of Danygraig Nursing Home in Newport, and brings extensive operational and leadership experience to her new role.
