New projects to support businesses across Bridgend

PopUp Wales and Cwmpas have launched two new projects to support businesses across Bridgend County Borough.

The Social Enterprise Programme will be led by Cwmpas and will provide workshops, business advice, networking, and masterclasses to help social enterprises and community organisations to become more sustainable.

They will also help to promote, adapt, and diversify existing products and services to respond to market demand.

Meanwhile, Urban Foundry’s PopUp Wales initiative supports start-ups and small business by matching affordable pop-up space across the county borough with great business ideas.

Helping people find a short-term space to test the market, grow their business and develop an idea, PopUp Wales also provides 1-2-1 business advice, workshops, and events to support businesses on their journey.

It’s great to see that a range of support is available for businesses across the county borough, and we have already seen many positives from initiatives such as PopUp Wales in previous years.

The scheme is a great way to trial an idea, for example some of the market traders were supported by PopUp Wales at the start of their journeys.

I would also encourage businesses to look at the support available through Cwmpas. They have a focus on sustainability whilst offering lots of advice in relation to the latest trends to ensure that any products or services are in line with market demand.

Cllr Neelo Farr, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Wellbeing

Both projects will be running in Bridgend County Borough until 31st March 2025 and are fully funded by UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
