On Saturday 11 October, Newport Food Festival will once again bring the city centre to life for a day of food, drink and fun.
With over 90 stalls lining High Street and surrounding areas, there will be entertainment and activities for all the family.

The chef demonstrations will bring together some of the best local culinary talent and this year will host not one but two celebrity chefs.

Headlining the fantastic line up at Newport Market will be Matt Tebbutt, TV chef and presenter. Matt will be joined by Cyrus Todiwala, Hywel Jones, Carl Cleghorn and Adam Whittle.

The demonstration programme starts at 10am with the Teenchef final, which will include Matt Tebbutt on the judging panel.

New for this year will be a dedicated street food and music area in John Frost Square. Visitors to the festival can sit back, sample some delicious street food and enjoy live music into the evening. You may recognise some of the artists who will be performing from the Newport Music Trail that took place in March, including the Eurekas, Josh Hicks and Ampersand.

To support Newport’s Age Friendly community status, the Mercure Hotel will be holding an age friendly community zone from 9am to 4pm.

Hosted by Newport council’s Age Friendly Communities team, there will be free talks and activities taking place – including a talk on food through the ages, presented by Past Port Tours, as well as a global recipe swap. There will be free tea, coffee, biscuits and cake provided throughout the day.

A food festival isn’t complete without activities and entertainment. Throughout the day there will be free activities and workshops taking place at venues in the city centre as well as street acts entertaining crowds as they roam around the stalls.

Newport council’s youth and play team will be holding free arts and craft sessions in Newport Market from 10am, and the Riverfront will have free craft sessions running between 11am and 4pm.
