A new frozen and fresh meal delivery service ‘Meals by Caffi Cwtch’ is being launched by Nightingale House Hospice next week.

Unable to open during lockdown due to Covid restrictions, the hospice’s Caffi Cwtch, with the help of volunteers, started delivering freshly made delicious meals locally.

Their current service ‘Meals Matter’ was such a success that it has now expanded its mouth-watering menu and been given a new name – Meals by Caffi Cwtch.

Meals can be collected or delivered and the venture will provide much needed funds for hospice patient care.

A wide range of fresh and frozen meals are available including nine new main dishes by Caffi Cwtch award winning Head Chef, Peter Jackson. Menu specials include fresh fish and chips and a tapas selection.

Much of the meal packing will be biodegradable and has been designed by the in-house team.

Yvonne Lush, Head of Clinical and Patient Services said: “I started ordering Meals Matter for my mother-in-law Ann as I knew the food was freshly prepared, suitable for freezing and the type of thing she likes to eat. I found the ordering easy, and I know Ann looked forward to delivery day. Feedback like this made us realise that we had a real demand for this service to not just continue but to grow.”

    Head Chef Peter Jackson added:

“We pride ourselves on using natural, wholesome, and high quality ingredients freshly prepared by our award winning team. All our dishes are cooked on the premises here at Caffi Cwtch and made ready for people to enjoy at home. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has contributed to the launch. From our in-house design team, our wonderful group of volunteers and staff and to customers for their continued support.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our valued ‘Meals Matter’ customers for playing their part in its success and we are confident they will also enjoy our new service. Thank you to Masonic Charitable Foundation, ScottishPower Foundation, Alpkit, Groundwork/Tesco Bags for Help and Co-operative Society for the support that they provided to enable us to develop our food delivery service. We will start taking orders for ‘Meals by Caffi Cwtch’ on 19th February.”

For orders, collections and deliveries call 01978 447550 between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Saturday.
