Wales’ biggest theme park, Oakwood, has launched a Wales-wide campaign to find three young theme-park-lovers to become its very own ‘Directors of Fun.’

The Pembrokeshire-based attraction, which first opened its doors thirty years ago, is looking to appoint three young people under the age of 16 to take on the role and help park owners ensure the attraction is working hard to offer the best possible experience to young visitors.

The lucky three will get the chance to spend time with senior executives at Oakwood to share their thoughts and ideas on what they love about the park and how it can be improved, as well as win a family annual pass to the amusement park, home to the world-famous wooden rollercoaster Megafobia.

The newly appointed ‘directors’ will be consulted on future developments, as well as be given exclusive first access to try new rides and attractions, such as Oakwood’s brand-new summer attraction Witch Hunt.

They will also become the face of Oakwood’s advertising campaigns and promotions in their local regions and be the point of contact for residents’ feedback on the park.

Sue Elaiho, Director at Oakwood Theme Park said:

“Hearing the thoughts of the public is very important to us at Oakwood so that we can consistently provide an attraction of the highest quality, that Pembrokeshire, and Wales alike, is proud to call its own.

“We are continually looking at ways to improve Oakwood and continue to offer attractions that people love, which is what inspired us to taken on our directors of fun.

“We wanted to learn what youngsters want from their park and what better way to do this than to hear from the very people who visit? Recruiting individuals from a range of ages will give us an insight into all perspectives at the park and we are excited to find our three lucky directors!”

Applications for the directors of fun are now open. To apply, please email your name, age, address and 100 words on why you think you should be Oakwood’s new Director of Fun to [email protected]

The family annual pass allows entry for two adults and two juniors. To celebrate the competition, Oakwood annual passes are currently being sold with a 30% discount for a limited time only.
