One of the narrowest properties for sale in the UK was snapped up at auction for £44,500.
The tiny, one-bedroom property, at 118 Llewellyn Street, in the South Wales village of Pentre, Mid Glamorgan created huge interest ahead of the sale when listed for £23,000.

Sean Roper, of Paul Fosh Auctions, said: “The really quirky lot saw great interest from all over the place with many intrigued with the size and shape of the slim property and what they could do with it being so compact
“This really unusual cottage was so small I could touch each wall while standing in the lounge. It’s a miniscule house to say the least but this didn’t deter bidders with a total of nine competing to win the property by lodging a total of 35 bids
“People realise that although small the terraced cottage style property has all you need and even has a garden and garage.
“The cottage, in a popular location in Pentre close to Treorchy may now become a cosy home or perhaps a buy to let property or to let out for holidays.
“The cottage manages to pack a lot in despite its size. As well as UPVC double glazing and gas central heating there is a lounge and kitchen on the ground floor.
“Upstairs is the landing, a single bedroom and bathroom. There is a yard and garage at the rear. Altogether it is a very neat and attractive package in what is a lovely and well-connected part of South Wales.
“There are a fantastic range of local amenities, and the bustling high street of Treorchy is close by with e good road links to bustling Pontypridd and the A470.”
The next Paul Fosh Auctions sale, when scores more properties from across the region and further afield will be offered for sale, starts at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 19 and ends from 5pm on Thursday, May 21.
