Paul Popham Fund, Renal Support Wales, has announced a new ambassador for the charity: TV presenter and chef, Matt Tebbutt.

The announcement comes during the charity’s tenth year providing support for kidney patients across Wales. The new partnership aims to increase awareness and exposure of the issues surrounding kidney disease and the support and service the charity provides, as well as increasing awareness of the Children’s Kidney Centre outpatient refurbishment project.

The fundraising target for the Children’s Kidney Centre is a grand total of over £130,000. The project aims to provide a calming environment with updated private consultation rooms and a children’s play area. The Paul Popham Fund has currently raised over £30,000 toward the refurbishment.

Matt Tebbutt is best known for his work on the popular BBC1 food and chat show ‘Saturday Kitchen’ and ‘Food Unwrapped’, on Channel 4. He has also been involved in other projects like ‘Daily Kitchen Live’ and ‘Save Money Good Food’. Matt grew up in Wales, and ran a restaurant in Monmouthshire (AA Restaurant of the Year 2004)for 14 years with his wife, Lisa and has recently set up a cookery school and filming kitchen in Wales.

Matt Tebbutt, Paul Popham Fund Ambassador, said:

“I am incredibly honoured to become an ambassador for such a fantastic charity. The service that the Paul Popham Fund provides is greatly appreciated by kidney patients and their families across Wales. I hope the team has continued success and can help improve the quality of life for as many renal patients as possible.”

Joanne Popham, Paul Popham Fund CEO, said:

“We are so pleased to bring Matt on board as our newest ambassador. We hope that this partnership will increase the knowledge of the charity and the service we offer, and in turn bring us closer to achieving our fundraising goal. Thank you, Matt, for supporting us!”
