South Wales Police have issued an update after a man was stabbed while running in Llandaff Fields earlier this month.

The incident happened at around 5.30am on Monday November 10, when a 55 year old man was attacked in the park. He was taken to hospital but his injuries were not life threatening and he was released later the same day.

Officers believe two males dressed in dark clothing and wearing balaclavas were involved.

Detective Inspector Bob Chambers said the incident has understandably caused concern among the local community and regular park users. He confirmed that the motive is still unknown and enquiries are continuing to establish what happened.

He added that the support of the public is appreciated and urged anyone with information to come forward.

South Wales Police are asking witnesses or anyone with details to get in touch quoting reference 2500358170.

Information can be shared online, by calling 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. People should call 999 in an emergency.
