The Pencoed-based facility has unveiled its new Sony Refurbished business, providing customers with an opportunity to acquire HD equipment which is refurbished to factory standards.

This is part of the brand’s wider “ground-breaking” ‘Go 4K Now!’ programme which aims to encourage and facilitate customers’ access to 4K broadcast technology.

As part of the project, which is in collaboration with Sony Professional Solutions Europe (PSE), customers can trade in their used equipment, which will support them purchasing the latest Sony 4K cameras and kit.

The used equipment is then fully refurbished by Sony UK TEC’s professional Service and Repair Centre to the manufacturer’s industry-leading standards and re-sold with a manufacturer’s warranty to customers via the Sony Refurbished web page.

The innovative upgrade programme has been made possible through Sony UK TEC’s  Broadcast System Camera Department. It will help to provide customers with greater access to high-specification HD equipment, which has been refurbished by the people who made it.

The project launch comes after Sony UK TEC became the only facility outside of Japan to begin manufacturing the brand’s top-of-the-range 4K broadcast camera (HDC-4300) last year.

On the launch of this new project, Sony UK TEC’s Operations Director Rob Wilson, said he was “very excited to be introducing another solution, which complements our current thriving business”.

He said: “Sony UK TEC’s Broadcast System Camera team is proud to be part of this truly innovative project, which supports sales of the latest 4K broadcast equipment as well as endorsing further HD sales as part of the refurbished programme.

“We believe the Sony Refurbished project will have a significant impact across businesses at all levels. We are thrilled to be driving this new solution for our clients from right here in South Wales in collaboration with Sony Europe.”

HD refurbished broadcasting and professional equipment can be purchased through Sony UK Technology Centre’s website https://refurbished.sonypencoed.co.uk/. Customers can browse available products via the page or contact the team to enquire via [email protected].
