This year’s Tour of Britain, the UK’s biggest cycle race, will see more than 100 of the world’s best riders race from the picturesque Margam Country Park to the finish line in the shadows of Caerphilly Castle on Sunday 10th September.

Those who are planning on heading to Margam Country Park to watch the start of the Tour of Britain finale will need to book the car park in advance, online.

Due to the limited ticket capacity for this event, booking in advance is advised. There are two arrival timeslots to choose from and the team buses are due to arrive at 9.30 am, the race will start at 11.15am.

The online booking system is now live.

An exciting range of activities from archery to junior Dirt mountain bike races have been arranged so that visitors can make the most of their day out.

A range of family activities has been arranged by NPT PASS (Physical Activity and Sports Service) as part of its ‘Cyclo Sportive’. This includes a Dirt Crit mountain bike race for Junior and Adults (advanced booking required), balance Bike taster sessions, E-Bike taster sessions and a family bike ride around the lake.

There will also be a skills area set up for free short course cycling with a rolling leader board.

Visitors will also be able to join in with the activities arranged by The Ospreys, have a go at archery with Margam Archers, meet Dr Bike and the Celtic Leisure team will be present. Go Ape will be open from 12.30pm for high wire adventures. There will also be opportunities for visitors to learn about Bike Road Craft.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy the park’s facilities during their visit.
