The second Spring Fair of 2024 took place in Blackwood Town Centre on Saturday 13thApril.

A total of 6,926 people visited the Town Centre on the day, with 1,018 being the peak attendance at 1pm. There were 2,759 more visitors in town than the previous Saturday.

There was a whole load of family entertainment at the fair including street theatre performers, The Mid Wales Ghostbusters, Birds of prey with Falconry UK, craft workshops, exotic animals, funfair rides, and more! Traders were even selling out by early afternoon.

Hear what local businesses and traders thought of the event:

Gavyn Bolton of McKenzie’s Café Bar said “Brilliant day, lovely to see the High Street so busy, we had lots of old and new faces in today.”

Maxime Cinema commented “Good day, we had lots of people coming in, the new stall layout worked well for us.”

Huw Edwards from Tidal’s Furniture Store Ltd said “The quality of stalls was amazing, events like this really help with the longevity of the High Street.”

Gower Doughnut Co. said “Thank you to [CCBC Events team] and everyone else involved in organising and running Saturday’s event. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. It was also one of, if not the most well organised events we have been to.”

Sians Emporium also commented “Thanks to all the team for another great event – fantastic occasion as always.”

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration and Climate Change said “Always good to see another family friendly atmosphere at the Blackwood Spring Fair. The event is always well supported, so I would like to thank everybody for coming along to make the day a success.”

The next event is the Caerphilly Food and Drink Festival on Saturday 27th April
