Swansea-based kidney charity, Popham Kidney Support, recently unveiled a new charity patron: Swansea City FC legend, Lee Trundle.

Trundle played for Swansea City FC between 2003 and 2007, and now serves as club ambassador and youth team coach. A supporter of the charity since its inception, he even hosted its very first event – Wally’s 5-a-side football tournament, in July 2013. Ten years on, Trundle has continued to be a consistent supporter, presenting at a number of its Supporters’ Thank You Events.

Trundle has now been officially named as a patron for the charity, joining its other charity ambassadors, TV and radio personality, Sian Lloyd, and TV chef, Matt Tebbutt, who were welcomed on board last year.

Becoming an official patron will now mean he is involved in attending events, promoting the charity and its services, being available for photo opportunities, as well as providing support in raising awareness of kidney disease.

Lee Trundle, new Popham Kidney Support Patron, said:

“I am incredibly honoured to be named as a patron for such a fantastic charity. The service that Popham Kidney Support provides is greatly appreciated by kidney patients and their families alike. I know that the team have ambitious plans to expand their reach to the whole of Wales in the near future, and I hope the team has continued success in order to help improve the quality of life for as many renal patients as possible.”

Joanne Popham, CEO of Popham Kidney Support, said:

“We are so pleased to bring Lee on board as our newest patron. We hope that this partnership will increase the knowledge of the charity and the services we offer as well as help us expand our reach across Wales. Thank you, Lee, for the ongoing support!”
