The 15 Most Impressive Manchester City Records of All Time

Since it was founded in 1880, Manchester City has broken numerous records to be regarded as an elite club not just in England and Europe but worldwide. By 2002, Manchester City had won promotion to the Premier League by climbing from Division 1 and the Championship.

Its win percentage has improved while on the way to winning numerous accolades, and bettors have also cashed in on the team’s good run of form. It’s no wonder football betting sites UK often give the team high winning odds.

But is it all luck? Absolutely no. Manchester City has put in the effort, commitment and money to attain a top club status. In the club’s over 140 years of history, its most impressive records are:

  1. Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City, and Manchester City are the only teams crowned Premier League champions since 1992 that had previously been relegated to play in the Championship. Manchester City and Leicester City were also relegated to Division 1 between 1992 and 2013.
  2. In 2001, Manchester City won promotion from Division 1 to the Championship. Then in 2002, they won promotion to the Premier League, having been the team to score the most goals ever (108) while accumulating the most points (99) for a Championship side.
  3. In 1934, Manchester City’s home game Vs. Stoke City at Maine Road Stadium attracted an attendance of 84,569, a record for an English Premier League team that stood for 85 years until Feb 2018’s Tottenham Vs. Arsenal match at Wembley.
