Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival goers are in for an extra treat this year as The Bear Hotel opens its doors to a brand-new set of exhibitors.

With just days now to go, in an exciting first for 2024 the hotel’s stunning St Quentin’s Suite will play host to its own mini festival, offering visitors even more to see and do this weekend (May 26-27th).

Visitors will be able to satisfy the sweet tooth with a selection of tempting treats including deliciously handcrafted Dotty Doughnuts, ’rock’ the rocky roads, brownies, blondies and cookie pies served up by Emburs Dessert Bar, delight in fabulous fudge pots and a selection of other sweet sensations from Davisons Artisan Chocolate and Fudge and enjoy a flavour of France tucking into Abi’s artisan macarons.

Carmarthenshire Ham will be on site serving up a selection of moreish meats; vegetarian and vegan tastes will be catered for by Good Carma Foods with their plant-based range and Mamghee will showcase their beautiful butter – liquid Gold in a jar.

And not forgetting Little Black Hen’s vinegar varieties, jams and chutneys!

Drinks are set to be covered by Hive Drinks’ beautifully bee-inspired spirits and as well as all the fantastic food available, Minna Stoneware will be providing the perfect gift options for the home cook.

Activities at The Bear Hotel will add to an already fantastic line up at the main festival site situated in the Arthur John Car Park, as well as a jam-packed timetable of events featuring the Vale Food Trail at the Old Hall Gardens and the return of the hugely popular food demos.

Speaking about The Bear Hotel’s involvement this year, managing director Julian Hitchcock said:

“As a hotel, we always embrace the Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival and try to get involved as much as possible; it’s such a great event, attracting so many visitors to the town and just seems to get better each year.

“We’re even more delighted to be actually hosting exhibitors this time around and, supported by Fine Wines Direct and Pommery champagne will be open from early Sunday and Monday with fantastic entertainment including the New Druids, our very own Neil Diamond and lots more planned for both The Cube and Courtyard.

“It’s shaping up to be a very busy weekend and we’re really looking forward to welcoming festival goers across this Bank Holiday.”

Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival manager, Tracy James-Lieberman added:

“We’re beyond grateful to The Bear Hotel for supporting us in this way.  It’s allowed us to add a totally new element to the festival and so many new exhibitors for visitors to meet.

“It’s a mini little festival in its own right and the range of quality produce that will be available just completely complements the other sites; we can’t wait to greet our festival goers in just a few days!”
