The Ivy Cardiff will welcome its first guests today (Monday, 18 November), in what promises to be a shake up of the restaurant scene in the city with a brand new and sophisticated offering.

The Ivy Cardiff – Ground floor bar

Based in the heart of Cardiff on The Hayes at St David’s Cardiff, the 260-seat restaurant will offer friendly all-day dining in a beautiful setting. As well as the main restaurant and central bar situated on the ground floor, The Ivy Cardiff features a stunning first floor bar complete with striking and colourful interiors, delicious cocktails, and a private dining space for up to 24 guests.

The Ivy Cardiff’s brasserie-style menus serves modern British classics, including breakfast, coffees, elevenses, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails. Delicious dishes featuring a selection of seasonal ingredients and flavours will be prepared by the kitchen and Executive Chef Sean Burbidge. Some of the sumptuous dishes on offer include, warming roast pumpkin soup with truffle ricotta, pine nuts and crispy sage; decadent truffled wild mushrooms with potato rosti, creamed mushroom, fried quail’s egg and grated truffle; as well as The Ivy’s vegetarian shepherd’s pie.

On the drink’s menu, local brewers Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.’s “Cwtch” Red Ale and “Clwb Tropicana” IPA will be served alongside a series of locally inspired cocktails to complement the restaurants dishes. Bae Caerdydd features vanilla vodka, Xante Pear Brandy and Chambord, shaken with lemon juice, sugar syrup, pineapple juice and fresh raspberries. Meanwhile, winter berries and fresh mint are combined with Brecon Botanicals Gin, lime juice, apple juice and vanilla syrup and topped with Fever-Tree Ginger Ale to form the delicious Mermaid’s Dream, whilst a tantalizing mix of Absolut Citron, Manzana Verde, apple juice, lemon juice, passion fruit and fresh raspberries, finished with a flaming passion fruit shell make up the aptly named Dragon’s Fire.

Alongside the eclectic dining and drinks menus, visitors will be able to relax in comfortable leather banquettes and enjoy the beautiful interiors, including striking artwork, curated and inspired by local Welsh landscapes and fauna as well as Cardiff’s heritage and history.

Baton Berisha, Managing Director at The Ivy Collection said:

“We are pleased to confirm that our newest restaurant, The Ivy Cardiff will open on 18 November. From today, we are taking reservations and our team, under General Manager Joshua Butler, are looking forward to welcoming their first guests. Whether it’s a relaxing retreat from a day’s shopping; an indulgent meal for a special occasion; or a refreshing cocktail or mocktail after work, The Ivy Cardiff has something to offer everyone.”
