Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime as the spellbinding West End smash-hit production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe arrives at the Wales Millennium Centre this week, running until Saturday, 15th February 2025. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of C.S. Lewis’s beloved classic, this theatrical spectacle brings Narnia to life in a way that will leave audiences of all ages utterly captivated.
Who doesn’t know the timeless tale of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe? For many, including myself, it was a cherished childhood read, filled with wonder and imagination. Seeing it brought to life on stage for the first time was nothing short of magical. My 10-year-old daughter (who is almost 11 and thinks she’s 21) was initially sceptical, believing she had outgrown the story. But as the performance unfolded, she was completely drawn in, rediscovering the magic that had mesmerised her younger self.
This is a show that transcends generations. With an age guidance of 6+ (no under 2s permitted), it is perfect for families, long-time fans, and those stepping into Narnia for the very first time.
A Theatrical Spectacle Like No Other
Step through the wardrobe alongside Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter as they journey into a mystical realm of wonder, meeting beloved friends, facing formidable foes, and discovering the profound lessons of courage, sacrifice, and love. The stage is transformed into a winter wonderland, enhanced by dazzling lighting, innovative props, and evocative folk-style music that immerses the audience in the magic of Narnia.
The production’s stunning use of puppetry is truly mesmerising, with Aslan magnificently brought to life by Rhodri Watkins. Meanwhile, Stanton Wright embodies the wise and noble presence of the great lion himself, making every moment with Aslan feel deeply moving. The intricate staging, complemented by rich costumes and atmospheric lighting, creates a visually and emotionally stirring experience.

Some of the standout scenes for us include the children’s evacuation via train to live with the Professor (Kraig Thornber)—a charming and quirky man with an air of wisdom that immediately wins over the audience. The train scene, in particular, was one of my favourites. We also loved the magical transportation to and from Narnia via the Wardrobe—it left us spellbound.
The entire cast is incredibly talented—multi-talented, in fact. We were amazed by how music and instruments became part of the performance, whether played live on stage or through the ethereal spirit of the moon (Joe Keenan). This beautifully enhanced the atmosphere, capturing our imaginations from start to finish.
The children—Lucy (Kudzai Mangombe), Edmund (Bunmi Osadolor), Peter (Jesse Dunbar), and Susan (Joanna Adaran)—were brilliant in their roles, each showcasing their character’s distinct personality and growth throughout the story. Their performances brought depth and authenticity to the adventure, making us question: Did they actually travel to Narnia? And has the Professor been there before?
Standout Performances

Of course, no journey to Narnia would be complete without the ever-charming Mr Tumnus, and Alfie Richards delivers a delightful performance that keeps audiences completely engaged.

But it’s the terrifying yet enthralling White Witch, played by Katy Stephens, who truly steals the show. Her commanding presence, icy demeanour, and mysterious stagecraft—including an unexpected and mind-boggling disappearance—will leave you in awe. If you figure out how she does it, let me know!
Don’t Miss Your Chance to Reignite the Magic
Due to phenomenal demand, an additional performance has been added on Friday 14th February at 2pm—a golden opportunity to relive childhood memories and create new ones with your family.
Whether you’re rediscovering Narnia or experiencing its wonders for the first time, this is a production not to be missed. Book your tickets before it’s too late at Wales Millennium Centre and step into a world of pure magic.
An unforgettable journey awaits—will you step through the wardrobe?
