The 2023, Child of Wales Awards, sponsored by Principality Building Society, took place at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, Cardiff on Friday 24th March.

Inspirational children from across Wales were celebrated at the star-studded celebration, which was hosted by TV presenter Gethin Jones. The winners of 13 categories were announced after over 300 nominations were received earlier in the year.

An auction and raffle on the night raised over £16,000 to support the work of two Welsh children’s charities; Ty Hafan, and Hope House Ty Gobaith, who provide care and support to life-limited children and their families across Wales and the Borders.

Vicky Wales, Chief Customer Officer at Principality said: “We’re really proud to be able to support such a special initiative created to celebrate these incredible young people. A huge thank you to the Child of Wales team for putting on such a fantastic event.

“We were delighted to recognise our two chosen charities Ty Hafan, and Hope House Ty Gobaith on the night. We know just how much the generous donations will mean to them, helping to continue the amazing work they do at the children’s hospices every day.”

Blanche Sainsbury, the award’s founder said:  “My thanks to Principality Building Society and all our sponsors who supported us in the creation of the second Child of Wales awards. We’re proud to have created an evening dedicated to the triumphs and successes of young people across Wales, and have been overwhelmed with all the nominations that made this night possible.”

Highlights of the night will be broadcast on Local TV and repeated on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of April.
