Dole today announces the launch of its latest culinary innovation, Tinned Hawaiian Pizza. Fully assembled, the famously divisive pizza comes sealed in a tin, designed for maximum convenience and practicality.

Available in select stores from April 1st and only while stocks last, the new product includes a deep-dish dough base, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, succulent ham, topped with the famous sweetness of Dole’s tinned pineapple. Carefully preserved in the brand’s signature tin, it’s designed for convenience and a long shelf life, ensuring Hawaiian pizza fans can enjoy the controversial classic, whenever they like, the easiest way possible.

Tao Baidoun, Brand Manager at Dole, said, “Research showed that the most common use of our tinned pineapple in the UK is for making homemade Hawaiian pizzas. Since we’re all about making life easier when it comes to fruit, we thought why not simplify things even further and create the full experience in one tin?

The launch playfully taps into the long running debate over whether pineapple belongs on pizza. While opinions remain divided, fans like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Paris Hilton openly declare their love for it and culinary icons like Gordon Ramsay and even pop star Harry Styles firmly insist it doesn’t belong. With Dole’s research* showing that 65 per cent of the UK think pineapple belongs on a savoury dish, the brand believes fans of the sweet and savoury ‘swalty’ trend deserve an option that’s as convenient as it is controversial.

Tao continues, “With Tinned Hawaiian Pizza, we’re offering a convenient way for curious foodies and devoted pineapple on pizza fans to easily enjoy their favourite combination anytime.”
