Two men – one from Swansea and one from Carmarthenshire – have been jailed after they were found to be involved in the Class A drugs trade.
In August, 48-year-old Andrew Flipping, from Ammanford, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs after officers saw him parked in a vehicle outside an address in Hafod in August.
58-year-old Paul Martin, from Hafod, was detained by Serious & Organised Crime (SOC) officers shortly after exiting the vehicle and was found in possession of two ounces of heroin and two ounces of crack cocaine. He was duly also arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Last month, Flipping pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine and heroin. Martin pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin.
Flipping has this week been sentenced to eight years in prison. Martin has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison.
Inspector Richard George, of the Serious & Organised Crime Investigations team, said:
“Both Andrew Flipping and Paul Martin were aware that they were engaging in an illegal act when they took part in their drug deal.
“The Class A drugs that were exchanged would likely have ended up being sold on to another person before eventually someone consumed them, causing untold damage and misery to the person who consumed them, their families and their communities.
“Class A drugs are a scourge on our communities and at South Wales Police we have a zero-tolerance approach to them. If you are involved in this illegal activity, we will pursue you with the full force of the law and bring you to justice.”
