The Vale of Glamorgan Council has installed its third Rainbow Bench ahead of the Barry Pride festival this summer.
Featuring an arcing prism of colours across its width, the bench is in Central Park, near the town centre, where the LGBTQ+ celebration event begins on June 15.
This will be the third seat of its kind in the Vale, with others already in place on Cowbridge High St and Barry Island Promenade.
Another is also due to be unveiled at another Vale location in the near future.
Cllr Ruba Sivagnanam, Vale of Glamorgan Council Cabinet Member for Community Engagement, Equalities and Regulatory Services, said: “This Council is fiercely proud to uphold values of equality, tolerance, acceptance and understanding.
“These benches symbolise the belief that people should not be discriminated against based on their gender, sexual orientation, race, disability or any other protected characteristic.
“This, our third bench, has been placed near the starting point of the Barry Pride Festival, which makes its eagerly anticipated return to the town in five months’ time.
“I hope people appreciate its vibrant design and perhaps pause a minute to sit down and appreciate what it stands for and against.”
