Last week, VirginMediaO2 visited Caerphilly Leisure Centre to witness the installation of the new Automatic Defibrillator.

VirginMediaO2 completed their ‘Lightning’ project in Caerphilly County Borough and expanded the network to around 12,000 homes. Customers will be able to take benefit from the new Gig 1 service which can deliver average broadband speeds of 516mbs download (50x faster than the standard UK broadband), along with the TV and phone bundles.

VirginMediaO2 kindly gifted a fully Automatic Defibrillator to the local community to thank them for their co-operation and patience throughout the build.

Local ward member and Deputy Leader Cllr Jamie Pritchard said, “It has been great to work closely with Virgin Media and Sport & Leisure Service in order to secure this life-saving piece of equipment. It is something we hope will never be used, but I’m pleased we now have another defibrillator located in the fitness suite providing an additional layer of support for our customers”.

Cllr Christopher Morgan, Cabinet Member for Waste, Leisure & Green Spaces commented, “I am so pleased to see yet another defibrillator installed into one of our sports facilities, these life saving devices are a vital part of our communities and I’d like to thank VirginMediaO2 for this generous donation”.
