Wales is set for a mixed spell of weather this week, with fine and bright conditions giving way to wet and windy spells later on, according to the Met Office.

Today (Tuesday) will bring rather cloudy skies in the west with some hill fog and patchy drizzle. Elsewhere, any early fog will lift to leave a mostly dry day with some brighter spells. Temperatures will reach around 18°C.

Tonight will be largely dry, although the north and west coast could see some drizzle. It will be cloudy for most, with some clear breaks leading to a chilly night and local fog patches. Minimum temperatures will dip to around 9°C.

On Wednesday, the north and west will stay cloudier with occasional drizzle, while the south and east will be brighter. Breezy conditions are expected with highs again near 18°C.

Looking ahead, Thursday should be mostly dry but rather cloudy and breezy. Overnight, conditions are forecast to turn wet and windy, with Friday and Saturday unsettled. Rain is likely at times, and there is potential for very strong winds across parts of the country.

The Met Office has warned that the UK will see increasingly wet and windy conditions as the week progresses.
