Cabaret is back for more this Autumn – bringing the very best in drag, burlesque, comedy and more to Wales Millennium Centre.

After just seven months, Cabaret has already become a firm fixture in Cardiff’s nightlife and cultural scene, serving emerging and eclectic talent like nowhere else in Wales. Tickets are on sale now for Autumn’s shows at wmc.org.uk/cabaret.

The queer TARDIS will return to Wales Millennium Centre in Gallifrey Cabaret, a night of cosmic drag and cabaret inspired by the iconic Doctor Who in the show’s 60th year. Fresh off his TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers, rising star Sam Morrison brings his Off Broadway hit comedy show Sugar Daddy across the pond.

The award-winning character comedian Tracey Collins – whose previous bingo shows as Audrey Heartburn and Elvis Lesley filled the room – is back for more bingo as Shell Suit Cher, and as one of two Dolly Partons for a Line Dancing Party with the Double Dollys.

00s pop icons will be reimagined for a night of live performance by The Alternative Cabaret, regulars at Penarth Pier. Aidan Sadler will punctuate synth-pop nostalgia with world-class standup in Tropicana, while Christine Bovill takes us back to the swinging sixties and the golden age of French song in Piaf to Pop.

After taking the Edinburgh Fringe by storm, Linus Karp returns with his chaotic show Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story, along with his acclaimed Cats The Musical-themed How To Live a Jellicle Life, and the Big, Stupid, Queer Comedy Quiz – which previously sold out in London and Manchester.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Charity Kase will thrill and chill while headlining a night of Horrible Drag! presented by Haus of Cymru, and there will be more drag delights as Crayola the Queen and the quick-witted Dragprov bring a taste of the London cabaret scene to Cardiff Bay.

Cardiff Cabaret Club will continue to titillate with monthly themed celebrations of burlesque. New drag king talent will be unleashed onto the Cabaret stage at Camp King: Draguation, while other local talents include shows by Hijinx’s inclusive band Vaguely Artistic and Wales’s first and only learning disabled drag troupe, House of Deviant.

Graeme Farrow, Wales Millennium Centre’s Artistic Director, said: “After a wild, provocative and fun opening season, I can’t wait to see the treats Cabaret is serving up this Autumn.

“So many people have found community and a home here as a safe space to be yourself, find yourself and lose yourself. There’s no better place to try something new.

    “Everyone’s invited. Are you coming?”

Tickets for most shows have remained at £15, with discounts available on every performance for under 30s, students, those who are living with a disability, and the unwaged. See the full season information at www.wmc.org.uk/cabaret.
