Welsh farmers invited to share their ideas at Sarn branch meeting

The Caernarfonshire branch of the Farmers’ Union of Wales is arranging a Sarn branch meeting on Friday November 9 at Bronllwyd Mawr Farm, Botwnnog to start at 11.30am, by kind permission of GJ and GC Thomas.

[aoa id=”1″]The Welsh Government’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Dafydd Elis Thomas AM, will be present to explain what the Government intends to do to support the agriculture industry and the rural economy following the controversial consultation ‘Brexit and our land’.

There will also be a presentation by farmer Griffith John Thomas, and the meeting will be an opportunity for members to air their concerns in order to ensure that their local Assembly Member can convey those concerns to the Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Planning and Rural Affairs Lesley Griffiths, who was responsible for publishing the consultation document.[/aoa]

FUW Caernarfonshire County Executive Officer Gwynedd Watkin said:

“Farmers across Wales will naturally be concerned about some of the proposals within the consultation and the uncertainty created by this, coupled with the uncertainty of future trade deals, it makes it all very difficult for anyone to plan ahead.

“Please come along to Bronllwyd Mawr where you will get the opportunity to put your views across. Light refreshments will be available at the end of the meeting.”

The meeting will be held through the medium of Welsh.
