    Caerphilly County Borough Council have voted to approve the next stage of the Local Development Plan (LDP)

    The LDP is a blueprint which identifies where new developments such as housing, employment, community facilities and roads will take place in future.

    In October 2019 the council agreed to prepare a new Local Development Plan to replace the existing one (the Adopted LDP).

    The first stage of the process, the ‘Review Report’ addressed several key issues including why a new plan is being prepared, and identified any changes in legislation and evidence that is required to support the new LDP.

    The next stage in preparing the LDP is to ask residents and businesses for their views on the Draft Delivery Agreement which is split into two key parts;

    • The Timetable for producing the revised LDP which indicates when various stages of the plan preparation take place and
    • The Community Involvement Scheme (CIS) which sets out the Council’s principles, strategy and mechanisms for early, full and continuous community and stakeholder engagement throughout the revision process.

    Councillor Sean Morgan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy and Enterprise, said: “The Draft Delivery Agreement will be subject of a 9-week public consultation starting on Monday 25th January 2021 and concluding Monday 29th March 2021.

    I would encourage as many people as possible to get involved and have their say about the development of this key strategic document which will help shape the future of the county borough.”
