Cardiff Works, the Council’s in-house temporary employment agency which offers jobs across a wide range of the council’s services, has developed the new site to raise awareness of opportunities in the authority and to support individuals into positions where they can build skills and confidence to secure sustainable employment.

The team works side by side with the Council’s Into Work Advice service, who can ensure candidates have access to all the employment guidance and expertise they need to equip them for roles they are interested in with Cardiff Works.

The bright and attractive new site features the latest temporary vacancies at the authority, as well as information and advice about finding the right job, standing out during the application process, volunteering and training opportunities, and interview tips.

Cabinet Member for Finance, Modernisation and Performance, Cllr Chris Weaver, said: “Cardiff Works has been supporting service areas across the Council for a number of years, matching suitable candidates into a variety of roles in the authority. The new website looks great and is a fantastic shop window for short term opportunities with the Council.

“Short term work might be just what some of our residents are looking for but in many instances, temporary opportunities can lead to more permanent roles, if that’s what the individual wants. Joining us with Cardiff Works gives people a chance to find out what it’s like to work for a large, diverse organisation like Cardiff Council, to gain valuable experience and new skills.

“There are many benefits to working for the Council. We are a Real Living Wage employer, committed to ensuring our staff are paid a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.

“We hope that the new website will attract and encourage even more recruits to join us as we seek tomatch them with roles that suit their skills, experience and aspirations and to enable us to continue providing the thousands of services we deliver across the city.”

Current vacancies and more information about Cardiff Works is available at the new website at www.cardiffworksrecruit.co.uk

Jobseekers can apply for roles directly through the website, as well as registering an interest in future roles.
