Poundland is rolling out Free From ranges in more than 300 stores across the UK, following a successful trial in selected stores over recent months.

Made up of more than 30 items, it includes daily essentials, snacks and treats from leading brands to offer customers more choice so they can buy more of what they need under one roof.

Its Free From ranges have been selected to help people who are coping with food allergies and intolerances and in the past were only able to buy these types of products in specialist health-food shops.

They include dairy-free and gluten-free items such as bread and rolls, porridge, milk, biscuits, cakes, rice, snack bars, pretzels and vegan latte sachets, from leading brands such as Alpro, Eat Natural, Nakd, Schär and Trek.

The rollout includes stores across England, from the South West to the North East, Wales and Scotland. Ranges will also be available for online ordering at poundliand.co.uk/shop for those in a pilot delivery area.

It follows a successful trial at 16 stores launched last July and was enthusiastically welcomed by customers.

Glyn Hughes, Poundland head of trading – FMCG, said: “Our pilot scheme showed just how much awareness there is about Free From foods such as dairy-free and gluten-free and how important they are to people with allergies and intolerances.

“They want to be able to buy them as part of their regular shop and now customers at hundreds of our stores will be able to pop them in their basket at Poundland’s amazing prices.”
