More outdoor fun as outdoor attractions extend their summer

Outdoor activity lovers will be able to enjoy Swansea Council attractions for longer than planned this summer.

Popular locations such as Blackpill Lido and the Singleton Park pedalos had been due to close after their successful summer season on September 5 – but opening times have been extended to September 26.

The sites, including crazy golf at the boating lake and Southend Gardens in Mumbles, have remained busy through the summer and right through the first half of this month.

Cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “The weather has been good and our attractions have been popular so we’re delighted that we can keep them open for a little longer.

“They help families enjoy Swansea’s wonderful natural environment and, with care taken by all due to Covid still being with us, can do so safely.

“The extended opening also means more opportunities for local tourism operators to work their way back from the pandemic.”

In pre-Covid times the attractions generally opened until the end of August but the council decided to extend into September this year – and now it’s going further still.

Blackpill Lido is still open every day. Southend Gardens crazy golf along with the Singleton Park pedalos and its crazy golf are open at weekends.
