Commercial cleaning company Mrs Buckét has employed a new Head of People as it continues its drive to be one of the foremost employers in the cleaning and facilities management industry.

Kate Ablett was previously employed by Brains as its Head of People and brings to her new role a wealth of HR experience.

As part of her remit Kate will lead an integrated people service that delivers business goals through engaging, people focused activity, utilising best in class practices.

Kate will also be responsible for creating a new overarching People Strategy for the ever-evolving organisation. This will include talent management, vital for any organisation, and shaping the employee experience.

There will be a focus on utilising developments in technology to give employees a great employee experience, as well as working with the senior management team to strength the employee reward and development offer.

Kate said: “I’ve been aware of the Mrs Buckét brand for a while now and have always been impressed by what they’re doing. Rachael and the team have already won me over, they recognise that the success of the business is built through its people and customers and subsequently endeavour to treat both with the respect they deserve.

“From a personal perspective, I wanted to join a growing organisation where I would be able to develop the ‘People Agenda’, building on the existing foundations to ensure that the business becomes an employer of choice.

“I was also attracted to the flexibility and mature output led style of the business. This means I can do a job I love and also be the mum I want to be.”

Kate is also chair of the South East Wales CIPD branch, the professional body for HR and people development.

Racheal Flanagan, CEO of Mrs Buckét, said: “People are at the heart of everything we do so this really is a vital role for the business and I feel strongly that Kate is the best person for the job.

“As well as grasping the company ethos from the beginning, Kate has the vision and the experience to help shape the business into a forward-thinking, people-centred organisation.

“2022 is an exciting year for us at Mrs Buckét. We have ambitious plans for the organisation and hopefully this is the first step in making those plans a reality.”

Mrs Buckét is a high-quality commercial cleaning and facilities management company. Established by Rachael Flanagan in 2005, the business has grown to have 330 employees operating across south Wales and south west England.
