House-hunters can now get to look inside a brand new showhome which has been unveiled at a new development in Llantwit Fardre.

Bellway Wales threw open the doors to a four-bedroom Bowyer house type at its Coed Derw development, off Llantrisant Road in the village at the end of last year.

The developer is building a total of 95 homes at the site. There will be 87 two, three and four-bedroom houses for private sale and eight affordable properties available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

The new homes are transforming a 7.5-acre brownfield site, formerly owned by chemical and care product manufacturer Clariant, into a new residential community.

Lewis Gater, Sales Manager for Bellway Wales, said: “There was a high level of interest in Coed Derw, even before we released the first homes for sale in October. This strong demand has continued to grow and was evidenced by a very busy weekend at the eagerly awaited opening of the showhome on site.

“This impressive four-bedroom double-fronted house is the first opportunity for prospective purchasers to see inside a completed house at this development. This splendid family home has been styled by our team of interior designers to provide a perfect example of what life could look like in this property.

“The Bowyer has been designed to provide the bright and flexible open spaces that the modern family demands. One side of the property is a large kitchen/dining/family space with French doors out onto the garden, while the other side features the equally spacious living room which is bathed in light from three windows.

“To help meet the needs of a busy family, there’s a cloakroom, a utility room and extra storage space downstairs. Upstairs, the main bedroom features an en suite, while the other bedrooms share a family bathroom and there is yet more valuable storage space.”

Planning permission for the Coed Derw development was granted by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.

Lewis said: “The Bowyer house type is a classic example of the quality that buyers will receive with homes from our Artisan Collection. This is Bellway’s flagship range of homes which has been developed following decades of customer feedback and combines traditional craftmanship and attention to detail with modern construction techniques.

“A range of buyers are being attracted to Coed Derw not only by the high quality of the new homes but also the benefits of the location. Parents are drawn by the well-regarded Welsh and English medium schools in the area while commuters are served by the Trefforest Estate train station three miles away and a road network which allows drivers to reach Cardiff centre in about half an hour.”

There’s currently a selection of three-bedroom homes available to reserve at Coed Derw, with prices starting at £259,995.
