The mobile accessory and repair shop in Caerphilly, Mobile Solutions, who were previously located in the indoor market, have now moved to new premises at Market Cross Kiosk, Castle Court Shopping Centre, with the help of funding provided to Caerphilly County Borough Council by the UK Government.

Mobile Solutions has received £30,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. These grants were dedicated towards Mobile Solutions through Caerphilly County Borough Council’s intervention of UKSPF funds. This has helped the business to move into the new premises as well as get fixtures and fittings to refurbish the shop, helped with rental costs and the purchases of new equipment to be able to offer existing and new services to their customers.

Mobile Solutions offer phone repair services, mobile phone accessories such as phone cases, chargers, speakers, as well as selling and buying mobile phones. There are goals to expand the business throughout the borough in the future.

Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Business Enterprise Renewal Team engaged with stall holders at Caerphilly Indoor Market to offer support for their businesses, which Mr Ahsan Waseem, director of Mobile Solutions, accepted. Investment Support Officers Sally Harvey and Lauren James then worked with Mr Waseem to secure 2 grants to help with relocation to the new unit.

Mr Waseem said, “we started back in 2012, I was in the market until Lauren and Sally helped me through the grant paperwork and gave me guidance. The Council has helped me massively. Going forward, I am currently working on dealing with other business and trade customers to the business. Hopefully mid this year, we project to double our revenue.”

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration & Climate Change, said “We’ve worked with traders in Caerphilly Market to support 50/50 funding bids to relocate to alternative venues in the town. Its pleasing to see Mobile Business Solutions thriving in their new, prominent location. I’d like to wish them all the best for the future.”
