All 11 units at the new Whitebeam Court employment park at the Ty Du development site in Nelson have now been let and occupied to growing local businesses.
Ty Du is south of Nelson with direct access from the A470 onto the A472 which connects Abercynon and Ystrad Mynach, giving it excellent links to Caerphilly, Cardiff and Blaenau Gwent.
The units, in four terraces of buildings – 11 lettable units – totalling 1,300 sq m, are part-funded by ERDF through the Welsh Government, with matching investment from Caerphilly County Borough Council and Welsh Government.
Property consultancy Knight Frank is the sole acting agent for Welsh Government. Emily Wilson, surveyor in Knight Frank’s Cardiff Industrial and Logistics division, said: ”The arrival of Vue completes a line-up of growing local businesses, from engineering to construction to events companies, all taking steps to grow their business at Whitebeam Court.

“The Ty Du development provides easy access for distribution of stock and sales, but it also makes life easier for our residents who work at these facilities. The development features state of the art units, electric vehicle charging points for staff and some fantastic views right from the door step of where these businesses call home.
“Facilities like this showcase CCBC’s commitment to building a prosperous local economy right here within the county borough.”

Whitebeam Court is a Joint Venture partnership between Caerphilly County Borough Council and Welsh Government and is the latest phase of an ambitious sustainable mixed-use development planned for Ty Du by Welsh Government.
A major scheme to undertake enabling highways infrastructure works, including installation of services and estate roads was successfully completed in 2019. This has prepared the whole estate for residential and commercial development, including the provision of affordable homes, with the remaining useable area (4.8 acres/ 1.94 hectares) allocated and marketed by Knight Frank for employment use. Sales have currently been agreed on two plots.
