A tweet offering help to teach Cymraeg over a pint has had an overwhelming response on social media.
Llio Angharad from Cardiff posted her offer of help to Welsh learners on social media yesterday (12th September 2018). The tweet has since had an unbelievable show of support from the community and at the time of writing, the post has more than 112 retweets and 300 ‘Likes’.

The response has been so great, Llio has decided to set-up a networking and learning event next week.
The social and meet will take place at 6pm at The Alchemist in Cardiff next Wednesday, 19th September 2018. Learners have been told not to worry about their level of Welsh, as it’s just a bit of fun and a chance to practice.
Speaking with Llio, she told Wales247 the reason behind her tweet:
“I wanted to do something to help learners practice their Welsh in an informal way.
“The reaction has been amazing and I couldn’t choose one person to help. So, I decided to make a welsh social a chance for people to come for an hour or two to practice their welsh over a gin or two.
“It doesn’t matter what their level of Welsh is, everyone is welcome. It won’t be formal, just a chat in a bar.
“Hopefully, we can make this a monthly event, visiting local businesses that offer a bilingual service. The new welsh speakers can practice their welsh when they visit that business again.”
